2020-2021 Planning

Contingency_button_

The following plan has been created for Christ Greenfield as we enter the 2020-2021 school year. It is always our desire to be open and on campus. However, we are ready to pivot at any time. These stages are aligned with the Arizona recovery phases.

Adjustments and practices for health and safety increase at each level, beginning with GREEN as the stage with the most minimal changes to our traditional routines and environment. RED contains the most adjustments when the campus is open.

On Campus stages:

  • Recess equipment is cleaned and disinfected throughout the day

Health & Hygiene

  • Staff are expected to self-monitor their health (temperature & symptoms)
  • Staff are expected to alert their supervisor immediately if they suspect illness so that a substitute can be called upon right away.
  • Parents are expected to monitor student health daily at home prior to dropping children off at school
  • If a child or adult shows symptoms of illness, his/her temperature will be monitored (traditional school practices)
  • Hand sanitizing stations are located at all exterior doors for entering and exiting and in classrooms (Hand washing is prioritized when possible)
  • The social and emotional health of students and staff is monitored and supported
  • Spiritual care for students, parents, and staff is provided
  • Students are encouraged to practice a "Growth Mindset" to help them gain flexibility in new situtations and challenges.
  • School nurse is available as resource and to act as a liason with the Health Dept
  • Students use their own supplies when possible
  • Sharing of materials is minimized (increased limitation at each level, with red being the most limited)
  • The catered lunch program is not being offered; all students must bring a lunch from home
  • Until further notice, the entire campus is NUT-FREE
  • Absenteeism is monitored
  • School events, field trips, assemblies, and gatherings are carefully considered at each stage
  • Parents are expected to keep children home when illness is suspected or confirmed

Facilities

  • Prevention and healthy hygiene habits are encouraged through signage and teacher instruction/modeling
  • Touchless faucets are utilized in restrooms and classroom sinks
  • Floors are marked to encourage physical distancing
  • Increased filter changes for HVAC systems
  • Water fountains are made unavailable for directly drinking from, but filtered water dispenser is available at all times for refilling personal water bottles
  • Plexiglass dividers at reception area, nurse's station, and other areas as needed
  • Outdoor play areas are divided into zones for PE and Recess
  • Addition of outdoor hand-washing stations

Building Zones

Christ Greenfield classes are divided into grade-level Zones/Buildings. As much as possible, students and staff will only interact with other students and staff within their homeroom and travel only within their Zone for entry and restroom use. When feasible, additional campus spaces will open up to students including the Life Center, school theater, sanctuary, Journey Center, etc.
Building Zones are as follows: Preschool, Kinder-1st Grade, 2nd-3rd Grades, 4th-5th Grades, Middle School

Stage BLUE addresses Building Zone closures.

Extended Care is available at all stages, with varying degrees of adjustment. Details released soon.
